The assessment considered factors such as housing, healthcare, local communities, finances, green spaces, and amenities.
Top-Ranked Scottish Constituency
Mid Dunbartonshire, located just north of Glasgow, achieved standout scores of 87 for finances and 79 for social and community engagement. The constituency includes several wards within the East Dunbartonshire council area.
Lennoxtown: A Prime Retirement Destination
Within Mid Dunbartonshire, Legal and General highlighted Lennoxtown as an ideal retirement spot. This small town, with a population of around 4,300, sits at the foot of the Campsie Fells, offering spectacular scenery and tranquil surroundings. The Campsie Fells provide scenic walking routes, while gentler trails also wind through the hills. Lennoxtown boasts dining options including Cafe Lucy, fish and chip shop Olivias, and Indian takeaway Bhaji's.
