Man Utd: Summerville Top Target, Rashford Speaks on Future

Manchester United are facing a pivotal summer transfer window as manager Michael Carrick aims to strengthen his squad ahead of a return to the Champions League. The club have already secured Brazilian midfielder Ederson from Atalanta after Casemiro's departure, but further midfield additions are needed after missing out on targets like Mateus Fernandes to Premier League rivals.

Summerville Emerges as Top Wide Target

West Ham United forward Crysencio Summerville is reportedly Manchester United's primary target to bolster their left flank. The 24-year-old Dutchman impressed last season despite West Ham's relegation and showcased his talent at the World Cup, scoring twice and providing two assists in four appearances before the Netherlands were eliminated by Morocco on penalties in the round of 32.

According to Sky Sports, United have held exploratory talks with West Ham, and Summerville's future is expected to become clearer after his World Cup exit. The Hammers have previously valued the winger at £50 million. However, United face competition from other Premier League clubs for his signature.

Rashford Addresses His Future

Marcus Rashford has spoken out about his future, insisting he will not make a decision during the World Cup. The England forward remains a United player after Barcelona opted not to activate his £26 million buy option earlier this summer. Rashford scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists for Barcelona last season.

“I was very clear with everyone involved before the World Cup, I wanted it (a move) done before,” Rashford explained. “If it’s not, I wanted it to wait until after. I want to be fully present in the moment. We’re fighting for something special.”

United boss Michael Carrick deployed Patrick Dorgu and Matheus Cunha as left wingers in Rashford's absence last season. The club's wide options remain under scrutiny as they seek to strengthen multiple areas of the squad this summer.
