Liverpool could be set for a busy summer transfer window as they prepare for Andoni Iraola’s first season in charge. The Reds confirmed last week that the Spanish coach had arrived on a two-year contract to become the club’s new boss, replacing Arne Slot, who left the club a few days earlier.
Iraola will now be tasked with preparing the Liverpool squad for the start of the new Premier League season, having just guided Bournemouth to a sixth-place finish and Europa League qualification before his departure from the Cherries.
The summer transfer window is fast approaching, and Liverpool are already being linked with a host of potential new signings.
Here, the ECHO takes a look at some of the latest Liverpool transfer news and gossip that has emerged over the last 24 hours.
Van Dijk ‘offer’ prepared
Galatasaray are reportedly getting ready to submit an offer to sign Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk. According to a report from journalist Yagız Sabuncuoglu, the Turkish Super Lig club are weighing up whether to lodge a bid to sign the Netherlands international.
The report in Haber Sari Kirmizi has claimed that Galatasaray are expected to make their move for Van Dijk after June 15, but it has not been stated what fee the Turkish club would make in an effort to sign the Liverpool star.
Monaco star transfer admission
Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche has spoken about a potential transfer this summer amid rumours of reported interest from Liverpool. The Reds have been tentatively linked with a move for the 24-year-old midfielder, who is currently with the France squad for this summer’s World Cup.
Akliouche has now spoken about his future and hinted when he could make a decision on a potential transfer. "Will the next step be a transfer this summer? Yes, but frankly, I'm really focused on this World Cup," Akliouche said in an interview with Nice-Matin. "I know anything can happen, even during the competition. It's a great opportunity for exposure, but I'm staying focused on the national team's objectives. I don't want to disrespect my club by talking about the transfer window now either. There are other things to deal with."
