Liverpool £70m Gakpo Talks Continue as Jones Deal Agreed

Liverpool are continuing transfer talks for Cody Gakpo, valued at £70m, while a deal for Curtis Jones to join Inter Milan has reportedly been struck with a medical booked.

Gakpo to Spurs Remains Alive

Cody Gakpo has been linked with a move to Tottenham throughout much of the summer. However, an arrangement to offload the Dutchman is believed to be impossible unless the Reds can bring in two attacking players, reports the Mirror.

Certain reports have valued Gakpo at £70m, with Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi eager to strengthen his left-wing choices through the 27-year-old's acquisition. Despite coverage questioning whether such a transfer could be finalised late in the window, Fabrizio Romano has maintained the prospective arrangement remains highly achievable.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano claimed Spurs continue discussions for the winger and finalising personal terms wouldn't present problems, as Gakpo is receptive to the move. Premier League winner Gakpo has 50 goals in 180 games for Liverpool and has struck 24 times in 54 appearances for the Netherlands.

Jones Agreement Reached

Curtis Jones' 16-year connection with Liverpool appears set to reach its conclusion. The Reds are said to have struck a £30m (€35m) deal with Inter Milan for the homegrown midfielder, who has come through the ranks at England's most successful football club.

Personal terms have reportedly already been finalised between Jones and the Serie A champions, with the medical scheduled to be arranged. Speculation linking the player and club initially surfaced on deadline day in January this year.

Inter rekindled their pursuit of the 25-year-old Scouser this summer, but had previously struggled to reach an agreement on a transfer fee with the Reds. The Italian heavyweights had two approaches turned down for the England international, the latest being a £21.7m proposal in June. Should Jones ultimately depart Merseyside, he would exit having featured in 228 matches for his boyhood club, netting 22 goals and providing 25 assists. He's claimed six major trophies at the club, including two Premier League crowns.
