Garnier's exact exit date from Kingfisher remains unconfirmed, though he is subject to a 12-month notice period. He will continue to lead the company until a successor is appointed. It is anticipated that he will begin his new position at Ahold Delhaize around April 2027, succeeding the outgoing chief executive Frans Muller.
