Katie Price has been accused of enjoying a luxurious holiday in Dubai instead of genuinely trying to secure the release of her husband, Lee Andrews, from prison. The 48-year-old star reportedly traveled to the UAE amid claims that her 'mercy dash' was not as selfless as it appeared.
Claims of a Lavish Trip
According to reports, Katie spent time at beach clubs and even brought a videographer along to document the journey. The footage may feature in her upcoming documentary, Katie Price: Nothing To Hide, set to air on Sky later this summer. Critics suggest the trip was more about content creation than crisis management.
Katie is said to have returned to the UK without her fourth husband after refusing to pay his £140,000 bail. She is now reportedly planning her next steps, leaving Lee behind in Dubai's notorious Al Awir prison.
Media Reaction
The Mail's Katie Hind accused Katie of 'directing a movie of herself,' stating: 'She said he was kidnapped, but he wasn't. He was always in prison.' Hind added: 'To get him out, it would cost £140,000. Katie rightly refused. So she came home on a business class flight without Lee, with money in her pocket and a nice suntan.'
The Mirror has contacted Katie for comment. Previously, she insisted the drama was not a publicity stunt, saying: 'This is real life. It has been tough, but I’ve stayed strong and kept a smile on my face.'
Lee's Release and Aftermath
Lee has since been released from prison and has spoken to his wife. He appeared healthy and happy during a FaceTime call. However, Katie warned him: 'I'm excited – but trust me, I have questions.'
Lee, a self-professed millionaire, was incarcerated after going missing, with Katie initially fearing he had been kidnapped. The couple married in January after a whirlwind romance.
