Police are appealing for information after a 72-year-old taxi driver died in a collision on the A1 in East Lothian. John Nisbet, from Edinburgh, was driving his London Taxi TX1 when it collided with a Peugeot Boxer on the southbound carriageway between Old Craighall and Wallyford, near Musselburgh, at around 12:30 on 27 November.
Officers believe Mr Nisbet picked up his last passenger at about midnight, dropping them off in the Wallyford area 30 minutes later. Sergeant Roger Park said the person might have information that could help the investigation. He stressed that the passenger is not in any trouble but urged them to come forward.
Mr Nisbet's son Eddie earlier said his father's death had left a void that would be impossible to fill. Police continue to investigate the full circumstances of the crash and have extended condolences to the family.
