Hearts are on the verge of signing Cormac Daly, a 19-year-old attacking midfielder who is a free agent after leaving Nottingham Forest. The Tynecastle club is confident of finalising the agreement, according to Sport Scotland.
Daly's background and loan spells
Daly, a young Scot, impressed during a loan spell at Hereford United in the National League and also featured regularly for Nottingham Forest's under-21 side. He had a previous loan at Lincoln City a couple of seasons ago. Daly spent three years at Forest after coming through the youth ranks at Hamilton Accies.
Busy week for Hearts
Hearts are expected to have a busy week of arrivals, with new head coach Wouter Vrancken set to be unveiled. The former St Truiden boss has been identified as Derek McInnes' successor. Hearts aim to appoint a top coach who can maximise the potential of their Jamestown Analytics signings, a strategy that remained in place even after Hearts lost the league on the final day last season.
Other transfer activity
A €1 million deal for French winger Sabri Guendouz has been agreed, and he is set to be confirmed after undergoing a medical in Edinburgh. He will join fellow new arrivals Josh McPake, Malachi Fagan-Walcott, Calvin Miller, MJ Kamson-Kamara, and Amadou Ba-Sy. A deal for French midfielder Tom Renaud from Versailles is also close.
Hearts have also been linked with PEC Zwolle striker Koen Kostons, but a move would require a club-record fee, with the Dutch side seeking around €3 million. That could be funded by the sale of Claudio Braga, who is attracting interest from Lyon. However, Hearts will only consider offers of at least £8 million for Braga.
