Olivier Giroud Tips Arsenal's £60m Target Ayyoub Bouaddi to Join Real Madrid
Giroud Tips Arsenal Target Bouaddi for Real Madrid Move

Former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has heaped praise on Lille teammate Ayyoub Bouaddi, claiming the 'complete' midfielder has the talent and maturity to play for Real Madrid as early as next year. Bouaddi, now 18, broke into Lille's first team at 16 in 2023 and has become one of French football's most exciting young talents over the past three seasons.

Growing Interest in Bouaddi

Bouaddi has attracted attention from Europe's biggest clubs, with Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco credited with strong interest. Premier League champions Arsenal have reportedly approached Bouaddi's entourage over a potential summer deal. Lille are resigned to losing the teenager and would accept an offer around £60 million.

World Cup Performance

Bouaddi's outstanding performance in Morocco's World Cup opener against Brazil, which ended 1-1, fueled transfer rumors. Casemiro and Bruno Guimaraes were left chasing shadows in midfield.

Giroud's Praise

Giroud told BBC Radio 5 live: 'I've been amazed by his maturity... his head is well done. He's calm, confident, staying himself. It's a gift to have him in the team.' Giroud noted comparisons to Patrick Vieira and Sergio Busquets but sees similarities to N'Golo Kante.

'He's a complete player, very versatile, all over the place, a bit like N'Golo Kante,' Giroud said. However, he added that Bouaddi needs to improve his finishing, as he has yet to score a goal for club or country.

International Switch

Bouaddi switched international allegiance from France to Morocco earlier this summer, having represented France at youth levels. He has made 96 appearances for Lille and is under contract until June 2029.
