Enzo Fernandez remains keen to leave Chelsea this summer, the player’s agent, Javier Pastore, has confirmed. The Argentine midfielder, currently at the World Cup with his national team, has made no secret of his desire to depart Stamford Bridge, with Real Madrid reportedly his dream destination.
Agent Confirms Ongoing Efforts to Secure Move
Pastore told reporters: "At the moment, the player is calmly focusing on the national team. He’s playing in a World Cup and is very close to reaching the round of 16. He’s thinking only about that, whilst we’re looking at options for him to leave Chelsea, but there’s nothing definite or confirmed with any club."
This statement comes after a period of tension between Fernandez and Chelsea. In April, minutes after Chelsea’s Champions League exit, Fernandez opened the door to departure. He was subsequently dropped for two games, and Pastore publicly criticized the club, calling the ban "completely unfair" in an interview with The Athletic.
Real Madrid Connection
When asked about Real Madrid, Pastore highlighted Fernandez's ties to the Spanish capital: "He has lots of friends there, and he’s very close to Julian Alvarez. In fact, whenever they can, they spend time together there. And I’m living in Madrid too. Every time he’s travelled there, it’s been to see me and to sort out work matters, but apart from that: who doesn’t like Madrid? I never played in Madrid… yet I even live there."
The Chelsea vice-captain has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid, and his agent’s comments suggest that a transfer remains a priority, though no deal is imminent.
