Princess Beatrice's husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, is reportedly keen to maintain a relationship with Prince William and Princess Catherine for business reasons, according to a royal expert. The property developer, who founded Banda Property, married into the Royal Family in 2020 when he wed Princess Beatrice, King Charles' niece, during the Covid pandemic. The couple have two daughters, Sienna and Athena, and Edo has a son, Wolfie, from a previous relationship.
Business Reputation and Royal Connections
Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi is the founder and chief executive of Banda Property, a high-end property development firm. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told the Daily Mail that being seen to have a good relationship with the future King and Queen could be important for Edo's business. Fitzwilliams said: “Edo clearly has a vested interest in steering a stable ship, with a firm like Banda Property reliant on reputation. Good relations with the Waleses, therefore, have an added importance for him.”
Supportive Gestures on Social Media
Although Edo is not often seen publicly with Prince William and Princess Catherine, he frequently leaves supportive comments on their Instagram posts. After Princess Catherine completed The Three Peaks Challenge, Edo commented with clapping hand emojis, a love heart, and a mountain emoji on the Kensington Palace post. His actions suggest he is trying to show his support for the couple.
Distance from the York Family
Since the scandals involving Prince Andrew, Prince William and Princess Catherine have reportedly kept a distance from the York family, including Princess Beatrice. Despite this, Edo appears to be making efforts to maintain a friendly connection with the Waleses, likely due to the business advantages of such a relationship.
