Former Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is facing a frustrating delay in his transfer to Inter Miami due to a dispute over discovery rights with LA Galaxy. The Brazilian left Manchester United at the end of last season after his contract expired and was expected to join Major League Soccer.
Discovery Rights Dispute
According to reports, LA Galaxy secured Casemiro's discovery rights by expressing interest first, which automatically gave them priority. Galaxy held talks with the 34-year-old and even offered him a deal. Inter Miami cannot finalize the transfer until they reach an agreement with Galaxy, who are reportedly demanding around £750,000.
World Cup Criticism
Meanwhile, Casemiro has faced criticism following Brazil's 1-1 draw with Morocco in their World Cup opener. Former Brazil midfielder Neto slammed coach Carlo Ancelotti's selection, saying Casemiro is "not fit to play football." Ex-Liverpool star Lucas Leiva also criticized Casemiro's performance, noting he looked "always late in the challenge."
Manchester United's Midfield Search
United have continued their search for a new midfielder after Casemiro's exit. They have agreed a deal for Atalanta's Ederson and are competing with Arsenal for West Ham's Mateus Fernandes, though they refuse to meet the £80m asking price.
