Mikel Arteta has revealed that Myles Lewis-Skelly will “100 percent” be an Arsenal player when the summer transfer window closes.
Lewis-Skelly’s future at the Emirates Stadium has been plunged into doubt over the past few weeks, with Chelsea and Manchester United both offered the chance to sign the teenager.
Arteta's Stance on Transfer Rumours
Further concerns were raised when Arsenal CEO Richard Garlick refused to rule out the possibility of a sale that would have not been popular amongst the fanbase.
However, in an attempt to put the transfer rumours to bed once and for all, Arteta has insisted Lewis-Skelly is not leaving the club.
Protecting Academy Assets
“The players that have been raised in our system and they feel the love and the connection with the club bring something else,” the Gunners boss revealed during Friday’s pre-Coventry press conference.
“We need to look after them in a really special way. When we can, we want to protect those assets as much as possible.
“Develop them and make them very important to the club.”
