Arsenal are close to completing two transfers that could significantly shape their summer window. After Piero Hincapie's £34.5 million move, the Gunners are now advancing deals for Manu Kone and Leandro Trossard, despite the World Cup causing delays.
Manu Kone agrees personal terms
France midfielder Manu Kone is reportedly on the verge of becoming Arsenal's first entirely new signing this summer. According to Corriere della Sera, personal terms have been agreed between the player and the club, with only a fee needing to be settled with his current club, Roma.
Kone, who has impressed at the World Cup with three appearances for France, including two full matches, is valued by Roma at around £43 million. The 25-year-old has three years left on his contract, signed in 2024. Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira has endorsed the midfielder, who would bolster an area that struggled with injuries last season, including to Mikel Merino and Martin Odegaard.
Trossard transfer reaches crucial phase
Leandro Trossard's exit from Arsenal is nearing completion, with his representatives reportedly flying to Istanbul for talks with Besiktas. Turkish newspaper Sabah reports that Arsenal have agreed a £15.5 million fee for the Belgian winger, slightly less than the initial £17 million expectation.
Trossard's agent and lawyer were in London earlier this week to finalize matters with Arsenal, but personal terms with Besiktas are not yet confirmed. Earlier this summer, Trossard was offered an annual salary of £8.3 million (£160,000 per week) by Saudi club Diriyah, but Besiktas remain in contention. The move would provide Arsenal with much-needed funds for further transfers.
