Waterloo chaos as trackside fire disrupts SWR trains

A trackside fire in west London caused major disruption to South Western Railway (SWR) services in and out of London Waterloo on Saturday morning.

The blaze in Feltham closed lines, bringing trains to a standstill. Dozens of trains in and out of Waterloo were showing as delayed on the station's live arrivals and departures page.

Reopened lines, lingering delays

In an update at 11am, SWR said the affected lines had reopened, but disruption would likely last through to 3pm. National Rail warned of possible cancellations and delays of up to 50 minutes.
