A large fire has broken out at a commercial premises on Hilton Street in Salford, Greater Manchester, sending thick plumes of smoke into the sky. Videos shared on social media show massive flames engulfing the entire building.
Residents urged to stay indoors
Local residents have been advised to keep their doors and windows shut due to the large amount of smoke in the area. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) is currently at the scene tackling the blaze.
In a statement, GMFRS said: "Firefighters are currently tackling a large fire at a commercial building on Hilton Street in Salford. Due to the large amount of smoke in the area, residents are advised to keep doors and windows closed and avoid the area. Bury New Road remains closed while crews work to extinguish the fire."
