Met Office names 8 areas facing 32C heat surge on Sunday

The Met Office has identified eight areas in the UK that will experience temperatures soaring to 32 degrees Celsius this Sunday. Millions of Britons are set to bask in scorching conditions as a heatwave grips the country.

Heatwave Conditions Expected

Weather forecasters predict that the UK will exceed its heatwave threshold temperatures over the weekend, with the hot weather continuing into Monday. Temperatures will begin to rise from Friday, with southern parts of England reaching highs of 30 degrees Celsius. By Sunday, warmer air will push mercury levels to 32 degrees Celsius, bringing intense heat across the south and southeast of England.

Expert Insights

Jo Farrow, a weather expert from Netweather.tv, stated: "This hot air will sway across the English Channel into SE Britain on Friday and over more of southern Britain by Sunday into Monday. Temperatures for East Anglia, London and the Home Counties and more of southern England will move into the high 20s C and for some the low 30sC. This means that the UK heatwave threshold temperatures will be exceeded, and over the weekend into Monday, the qualifying ‘three consecutive days’ looks very likely."
