The Met Office has named the areas which could finally see heavy rain downpours before Thursday this week.
After weeks on end with so little rainfall that a spate of hosepipe bans were declared and much of the UK entered drought status, rain has finally blessed several areas of the UK on Sunday night into Monday morning - and more could be on the way.
However, not all of the country will get a soaking, and some parts, especially the south of England, are still set to see precious little in the way of downpours, although parts of the south west could see rain on Wednesday.
Areas Set for Rain
As of Monday morning, several areas are set to see more rain before Thursday, including Leeds, Newcastle, Barrow-in-Furness, York, Sheffield and Preston as well as parts of Somerset.
Newcastle is set to see heavy downpours at about 9.30pm on Monday, August 17.
Cumbria will see heavy downpours on Monday night, with both Kendal and nearby Barrow-in-Furness expecting heavy rain at different times on Monday.
Regional Outlook
Leeds in West Yorkshire will be among the areas in the county which can expect more heavy rain on Monday night along with Bradford, Huddersfield and other nearby towns and cities.
York, along with other areas in North Yorkshire including Ripon, will see heavy rain on Monday night.
The heavy rain is expected to affect 13 areas in total across the UK before Thursday.
