The M6 motorway is closed to traffic in North Staffordshire following a crash tonight (Monday, October 5). The southbound carriageway is shut between Junction 16 (Stoke-on-Trent/Crewe) and Junction 15 (Stoke-on-Trent).

Closure details and delays

A National Highways spokesperson said: "The M6 southbound near Stoke-on-Trent is currently closed between J16 and J15 following a multiple vehicle collision. All emergency services are working at scene. Current delays of 10 mins and 1 mile of congestion on the approach."

Inrix, the traffic data company, said: "M6 Southbound blocked due to accident from J16 A500 (Stoke-on-Trent / Crewe) to J15 A500 D Road (Stoke-on-Trent)."
