The M56 eastbound is partially blocked this evening (Tuesday August 11) following reports of a vehicle fire on the carriageway. Emergency services are at the scene, and traffic monitoring service Inrix reports the obstruction between junction 4 near Wythenshawe and junction 3A at Princess Parkway near Baguley.
Delays and Queues
The incident was first reported just after 6pm, with congestion reaching back to junction 6 near Hale and delays of around 25 minutes through the area. Traffic camera stills show long queues, with police and fire crews in attendance. An eyewitness told the M.E.N the incident relates to a vehicle on fire.
