Vinegar-soaked bread trick
Captioning the video, the creator explained: "A great tip to stop flies and maggots in the bin. Pop some bread soaked in vinegar at the bottom. I always bag up all my garbage to keep the bin a lot cleaner. No more flies or maggots."
Bread soaked in vinegar can prove a highly effective method of repelling flies and maggots. Thanks to its powerful, acidic odour, vinegar naturally discourages flies, and the natural chemical can also dehydrate maggots and eliminate them on contact.
