Amber heat health alerts have been issued for most of England as temperatures are forecast to soar into the mid-30Cs again this week. The alerts cover eight areas, with warnings about potential impacts on power and medicine supplies.
Drought risk increases
More areas of England look likely to plunge into drought as the UK's extreme summer continues. The alerts come as the country faces its fifth heatwave of the season.
The Met Office has named 16 areas expected to see temperatures over 30C on Wednesday, adding to the heatwave conditions.
