Thames Water Outage: London and Home Counties Face Water Shortage

Thames Water has confirmed multiple supply issues affecting its network across London and the Home Counties, with some residents reporting 'no water' in their homes amid the UK's third heatwave of the summer. The water supplier acknowledged that residents in east London and north west London are encountering separate supply difficulties, resulting in reports of 'no water' in certain areas.

Disruptions Across the Home Counties

Thames Water has also confirmed that disruptions are impacting a substantial stretch of the Home Counties surrounding London, including postcodes across Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Bedfordshire. The difficulties emerge on the opening day of the nation's third heatwave of the summer.

Heatwave Conditions

Overnight temperatures are hovering around 24°C in London, with forecasts predicting 33°C on Thursday (July 8), according to the Met Office. The combination of high demand and infrastructure issues has led to water shortages for many households.
