Two women who were stranded on a remote Orkney island for two days have arrived back in the UK.
The pair were rescued by coastguard teams after being cut off by bad weather on the island of Swona.
Rescue operation
They were taken to safety by a coastguard helicopter on Wednesday afternoon.
The women had been stranded since Monday, when their boat was unable to return to the mainland due to rough seas.
Safe return
They have now arrived back in the UK and are said to be in good health.
No further details about the women or the circumstances of their stranding have been released.
