A woman snorkelling off Japan's west coast has spoken of her relief after finding herself surrounded by deadly box jellyfish. Melanie, based in Okinawa, shared underwater footage and admitted it "could have been way worse".

She had been swimming alone near a hidden beach when she heard the "saxophones becoming louder". Panning her camera, she revealed a significant number of box jellyfish nearby.
