Norths launch Swiss Alps training experience

George and Becky North have launched a new venture at a luxury hotel in the Swiss Alps, inviting people to train alongside them in the mountains. The four-day experience, advertised as an 'Autumn Reset', will take place from October 4-7 this year.

A new chapter after sporting careers

Both retired from professional sport, the Welsh couple have pursued new avenues in recent years. George ended his rugby career earlier this year, while Becky retired from cycling in 2017. They have since married and welcomed two sons, Jac and Tomi.

Becky has launched her own baking business, and George co-founded motorcycle-themed cafe and lifestyle brand Baffle Haus.

What the experience includes

The three-night stay, hosted with luxury hotel The Brecon—owned by Welsh brothers Grant and Craig Maunder—offers guests the chance to "run, hike, bike and train" with the Norths. It includes an outdoor sauna, cold plunge, yoga, guided recovery sessions, full spa access, breakfast, seasonal dinners, and afternoon tea.

Organisers stress the experience is "not a boot camp or a retreat". The Brecon's website says: "It’s time in the mountains with two people who know what it takes to perform at the very highest level - moving together, recovering together and sharing good conversation along the way."

Pricing and availability

Limited spots are available. A single occupancy standard room costs 2,040 Swiss francs (£1,870) for the three-night stay, while suites and lofts cost 3,390 Swiss francs (£3,108). An extra 870 Swiss francs (£798) is required for a companion sharing a room or suite.

After his final match for the Barbarians against Wales in June, George spoke about his future plans: "I'm really looking forward to having some time to chill. It's the first time I've stopped properly without anything needing medical attention for a while, so I feel very happy and pleased."

He added: "I think I will stay involved in rugby in some capacity down the line, though I'm not entirely sure what that looks like just yet. Rugby has given me so much for a long time."
