Lufthansa has announced plans to resume flights to Tel Aviv from July 1, joining ITA Airways in restoring services to the Israeli city after recent war-related disruptions. The German carrier will implement enhanced safety measures, though specific details have not been disclosed.
Other airlines are taking a more cautious approach. SWISS has postponed its Tel Aviv resumption until August, while Brussels Airlines has suspended operations until October 24. Eurowings, Lufthansa's low-cost subsidiary, will resume Tel Aviv flights on July 9.
Many international carriers continue to avoid the region entirely. Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines have suspended flights to several Middle Eastern destinations including Abu Dhabi, Amman, Beirut and Tehran until October 24. Dubai flights remain suspended until September 13 for Lufthansa, SWISS and ITA Airways.
British Airways has delayed its resumption of flights to Dubai, Doha and Tel Aviv until August 1, reducing services to one daily flight and permanently dropping Jeddah. Air France has suspended Tel Aviv flights until June 14, while KLM has halted services to Riyadh and Dammam until July 12.
Other airlines have extended cancellations: Delta Air Lines has suspended Atlanta-Tel Aviv until December 18, and Finnair has cancelled Doha flights until October 2 while avoiding the airspace of Iraq, Iran, Syria and Israel. The disruptions reflect ongoing concerns about regional stability and airspace safety.
