Liverpool Night Market will still take place on Thursday, August 27, despite a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms, but several changes have been made to the event.
The market is scheduled to run from 2.30pm to 8.30pm, with around 40 artisan traders expected. They will offer locally made products including food and sweet treats, arts and crafts, jewellery, gifts and more. Visitors can also enjoy refreshments from St George's Hall's Portico Bar, which will be open throughout the evening, and there will be a special performance from the Liverpool Signing Choir.
Changes announced ahead of the event
A post on St George's Hall's Facebook page said: "Based on the weather warning we have been working really hard to ensure an offer can still go ahead, rather than cancelling the market."
The post added: "Unfortunately that has meant several changes have had to be made. Outside will now be based on the corner of the plateau nearest Lime Street Station only."
There will now also be an inside offer with free entry, located at the North end of the Hall on William Brown Street. The market will still operate between 2.30pm and 8.30pm as planned, and the post encouraged people to "come and join us and support the local traders."
Minton tile floor experience continues
Visitors will still get the opportunity to see one of St George's Hall's greatest treasures after hours. The Hall's Minton tile floor has mesmerised hundreds of thousands of people over the years, with the mosaic made up of around 30,000 handcrafted tiles. It has only been uncovered a handful of times through the years.
