Le Set, a new late-night bar and restaurant co-owned by Open Goal podcast host Si Ferry and business partner Jordan Allan, opened its doors in Glasgow's Princes Square on Thursday, September 24. The venue aims to fill a gap in the city's nightlife market for a sophisticated late-night spot that attracts millennials.
A new concept for Glasgow's nightlife
Located at the Penthouse in Princes Square, where the former October venue once sat, Le Set combines fine dining, cocktails, champagne, live music, and late-night dancing under one roof. It is open seven nights a week from 12pm to 1am, designed to accommodate guests through all stages of their evening so they don't need to head elsewhere.
The experience begins with lunch or dinner before moving into cocktails or champagne, followed by a live saxophonist, DJs, and dancing. The venue operates a strict 21-and-over policy, one of the only places in Glasgow to do so, appealing to those who prefer to avoid mingling with teenagers.
Dining and drinks
Le Set offers a launch menu featuring miso black cod, Le Set Lobster French Toast, Wagyu beef tacos, and Millionaire Fries finished with fresh truffle and caviar. Food options are divided into bar snacks, small sharing plates, or larger main meals. Alongside these dishes is an extensive drinks menu consisting of carefully curated wine, champagne, and classic cocktails.
The venue's interior features burgundy tones, red velvet seats, and an elegant gold ceiling. It is split in two, with marble-topped booth-style tables on one side and a fully stocked bar on the other. The bar staff were noted as lovely and the service remarkably fast.
Atmosphere and verdict
The writer sampled bar snacks including olives, burrata, and sticky chargrilled chicken skewers, all described as delicious. The mood shifted when the DJ decks started, followed by a live sax player, with guests comparing the vibe to a late-night venue in Ibiza or Marbella. The writer spent the entire evening dancing and drinking, noting they didn't want to leave.
Head Chef Nick Rietz, formerly head chef at Glasgow institution Two Fat Ladies and founder of Michelin Guide-listed Bilson Eleven, leads the kitchen. Le Set is now available for bookings on its website.
