A Jet2 flight from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Palma de Mallorca Airport has declared an emergency shortly after takeoff, according to the real-time aviation alert service Squawk.
The Boeing 737-800 issued a 7700 general emergency alert at 12,875ft on its correct flight path, Squawk reported on X. The flight departed at 8am today (August 6).
Diversion to Manchester Airport
According to Flightradar24, the aircraft changed direction near Shrewsbury and appeared to be heading back towards Liverpool. However, it now seems the plane may land at Manchester Airport instead.
