Families can enjoy a free Halloween trail around Wilmslow from Friday, October 23, to Sunday, November 1, with hidden pumpkins, spooky gargoyles and puzzles to discover across the town centre.
The Wilmslow Halloween Trail invites visitors to follow a trail map to find 16 Halloween pumpkin pictures dotted around participating businesses, helping a group of Halloween monsters locate their numbered pumpkins. There are also 10 hidden gargoyles to track down for those wanting an extra challenge.
Trail activities and prizes
Alongside the pumpkin hunt, the map includes a Halloween wordsearch, maze, shadow-matching challenge and picture puzzle to keep younger visitors entertained. Completed trail maps and competition entries can be posted into the post-box at Waitrose for a chance to win a prize.
Participating venues include Costa Coffee, Starbucks, Hotel Chocolat, The Swan, Piccolino, The Rex, The Stolen Lamb, Stone Store, Bang & Olufsen, Nolte Kitchens, Tesco Express, Waitrose, Toni & Guy, Smoke, Admiral Travel and Wilmslow Leisure Centre.
Adult Halloween event
For grown-ups, Piccolino Grande Wilmslow is hosting a Pumpkin Painting & Prosecco session on Saturday, October 24, from noon until 1.30pm. The event combines a guided ceramic pumpkin painting masterclass with prosecco, with tickets costing £35 per person.
Wilmslow businesses are also taking part in the Paint Wilmslow Pink campaign throughout October, raising awareness and funds for Prevent Breast Cancer. Tropica Plants will donate 25 per cent of the price of every pink Anthurium sold, The Stolen Lamb is introducing a special Stolen Baa-lini, and Smoke is donating £1 to charity for every Sarti Spritz sold during the month.
Charity walk and community support
On Sunday, October 25, Blushing Susie invites residents to take part in a charity walk through Wilmslow. Registration opens at 10am with a £5 donation to enter, and participants receive 20 per cent off a new item at Blushing Susie at the finish line. Pink-themed displays and promotions are also planned at Admiral Travel, Stone Store, Hepplestone Fine Art, Chelsea Flowers, Gascoigne Halman, The Home Library, James Doyle Opticians and Jordan Fishwick.
Lisa Russett, Wilmslow BID Manager and spokesperson for Wilmslow's Way Better, said: “There’s a really lovely atmosphere in Wilmslow at the moment, with businesses really getting behind both our Halloween Trail and the Paint Wilmslow Pink campaign. The Halloween Trail is a great family activity for half term, it’s always really popular bringing lots of families in to explore the town. And throughout October, we’re delighted to see so many local businesses supporting Paint Wilmslow Pink and helping to raise awareness for Prevent Breast Cancer.”
