Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning to move back to England, with the Cotswolds believed to be top of the list for their new home. Having recently moved to the area herself, Social News Reporter Alice Sjoberg shared her top recommendations for places the couple should visit.
The Cotswolds would offer the privacy the couple have been seeking while still being an easy commute to London. It is also ideal for visits to several other royal family homes and good private schools for their children, Archie and Lilibet. Sjoberg, who spent years visiting the area before moving, suggested five locations she believes Harry and Meghan would love.
Cirencester Park and the Slaughters
Cirencester is the capital of the Cotswolds, offering independent shops, cafes, historic grounds and Roman ruins. Sjoberg highlighted Cirencester Park, a Grade I-listed historic parkland covering 3,000 acres of nature. She noted her first visit turned a planned short morning walk into a four-and-a-half-hour exploration, with plenty of space to enjoy the countryside privately away from crowds.
The park is privately owned by the Bathurst Estate, which also owns the Cirencester Park Polo Club, where members of the Royal Family including King Charles, Prince William, and Prince Harry himself have been spotted playing polo. Sjoberg speculated that Archie or Lilibet might become the next royal polo players.
For less crowded villages, Sjoberg recommended the Slaughters, which consists of Upper Slaughter and Lower Slaughter. These villages offer unspoiled honey-coloured stone architecture, peaceful riverside settings, and a rich history, connected by a scenic walking trail.
Wildlife Park, Soho Farmhouse and Lavender Fields
Noting Harry's famous Botswana safari trip with Meghan early in their relationship, Sjoberg suggested the Cotswolds Wildlife Park as a more practical alternative for young children. The park is home to more than 1,500 animals from 250 different species, making it one of the largest zoological collections in the UK.
Soho Farmhouse, a private members' club and luxury rural retreat set across 100 acres in the Oxfordshire countryside, was another recommendation. Meghan reportedly held her hen do there in 2018. The venue is part of the exclusive Soho House members' clubs, which have over 28 houses worldwide and are popular with celebrities and media, arts and fashion professionals.
Finally, Sjoberg suggested the Cotswolds Lavender Fields during the summer, noting Meghan's interest in good quality food, resources and the natural world. The fields offer photo opportunities and sell products made from their own lavender.
