Father and son reach Turkey on Vespa after 7 months

Mario Gabrieli and his son Leonardo have arrived in Amasya, Turkey, seven months after beginning their journey from Sydney on a 50-year-old Vespa.

The Journey So Far

The pair started their trip in early January under a project named 'I Due Caschi,' meaning 'The Two Helmets' in Italian. They are traveling on a Vespa that is 50 years old.

Plans Ahead

They expect to continue across Turkey through Cappadocia and Antalya before eventually reaching Trieste in northern Italy, completing a route of nearly 40,000 km. Gabrieli, who was born in Trieste and has lived in Australia for more than two decades, wants his son to experience the different cultures, landscapes and histories as they travel.
