How the Priority Card Works
The Priority Card is available to visitors with officially recognized disabilities. It provides priority access for the cardholder and up to four companions for rides and shows, or the cardholder plus two for parades and firework areas. An alternative Easy Access Card gives an allocated return time, allowing holders to explore other areas while waiting.
During a three-day trip, the visitor racked up nearly 90,000 steps, over 40,000 on crutches. The Priority Card cut wait times dramatically; for example, the Frozen Ever After ride had a regular queue of 90-130 minutes, but she waited at most 10 minutes.
Positive Experiences and Areas for Improvement
Staff were friendly and helpful, and crutches were safely stored on most rides. Evening shows were a highlight, with priority access allowing a perfect view without long waits. However, seating was lacking, and the visitor ended up on the floor for parts. Additionally, some accessible queues lacked overhead coverage, which was problematic during rain.
Despite these minor issues, the overall experience was overwhelmingly positive. The visitor described it as one of the most accessible places she has visited, setting a high standard for other theme parks.
How to Get a Priority Card
To obtain a card, visitors must complete a short online form and provide proof of disability, which varies by country. UK applicants can use a national disability card. Applications can be submitted up to one month before the trip, and cards are collected in person with the necessary documents. Cards can be picked up at Disney Hotels or City Hall inside Disneyland Park.
