A Disney World Resort enthusiast who has visited the Florida attraction 48 times has warned Brits about a common mistake that could see them denied entry at the gate.
Reservation Required Despite Ticket
Mark Patterson, who has been to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida 48 times in the last six years, told the Express that many visitors are unaware they must reserve a specific park for each day, even if they have already purchased a ticket.
"I've seen people in arguments at the gate because you might have paid thousands of dollars for your resort and ticket, but if the park has filled up and you didn't reserve a park for that day, you're out of luck," Patterson said. "You're going to have to go to another park."
Managing Crowds
Patterson explained that Disney World can reach full capacity, so the reservation system helps manage crowds. "Disney wants to know where you're planning to go for that day because they've got to manage the crowds," he added.
He urged visitors to download the Disney World Resort app to check park availability and plan their day. The app shows a calendar indicating whether parks are available or have restrictions.
Special Events and Early Closures
Patterson also warned about special event nights, such as Halloween or Christmas parties, which require separate tickets and often start at 6pm or 7pm. Visitors without those tickets may have to leave the park early, even if they have a regular day ticket.
"If you don't buy that special event ticket, you usually have to leave the park at 6pm," Patterson said. He added that some parks may close early for other events, and people might not realise this.
