As winter finally recedes and Easter approaches, many Britons are seeking sunny escapes. TUI has analysed historic weather data to identify the best destinations for Easter sunshine, ranking them by a Good Weather Score based on average rainfall, wind speed, and temperature in early April.
Turkey tops the list, offering average temperatures of 18°C and minimal rainfall (just 0.01mm). The top spot within Turkey is Marmaris, on the Turkish Riviera, which often reaches 19°C around Easter with light winds. This lively port town features a marina, grand bazaar, historic sites like 16th-century Marmaris Castle, and sandy beaches such as the six-mile Long Beach (Uzunyali) and quieter İçmeler Beach.
Greece ranks second, with mean temperatures around 16°C and long sunny days. Bulgaria comes third, praised for its pleasant, balanced climate with light winds and low rainfall, making it ideal for exploring without summer heat. Bulgaria is also a growing hiking destination, especially in the Rila and Pirin mountains, and boasts over 200 beaches along the Black Sea coast, including lively Sunny Beach and cultural Varna.
For those planning an Easter break, TUI's holiday weather guide provides monthly weather breakdowns for popular spots. The journey to Marmaris takes just over four hours from the UK.
