UK weather maps have turned volcanic red as forecasts predict extreme heat returning to the nation very soon. According to WXCharts, temperatures could shoot up to as high as 39C by the end of the month.
Scorching temperatures expected
The maps for July 30 and 31 show a large part of the UK, turned red and grey, indicating the upcoming scorching heat. The highest temperatures will be across the South and East of England, Wales, and parts of the Midlands, where temperatures will reach the high-mid 30s. This is expected throughout the two days.
Brits can expect extremely warm evenings and nights, with the maps showing temperatures reaching up to 37C at midnight on July 31.
Regional variations
Temperatures will fall as you travel further up north, with Brits in the north of England expected to welcome more balmy conditions, with temperatures ranging between the mid and low 20s.
The Met Office also notes that temperatures are expected to be “broadly above normal and will probably be warm or even hot at times” for this period. The weather agency’s long-range forecast for July 28 to August 6 notes “a mixture of bright or sunny spells and some rain at times,” followed by settled conditions. It also states that the hot weather will be particularly in the South.

Friday: Dry with plenty of sunshine for much England and Wales. Cloudier across parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland with patchy rain, although some brighter spells developing at times. Feeling warm for many and hot towards the southeast.
Tonight: A weakening band of cloud and rain moving across Scotland and Northern Ireland this evening, with further rain arriving into Scotland overnight. Remaining dry with clear spells elsewhere.
Saturday: Band of rain across Scotland moving southeastwards and turning increasingly showery. Remaining dry, sunny and very warm across southern areas, with brighter and fresher conditions following across Scotland.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday: Fresher for all on Sunday with sunny spells and some showers. Remaining changeable early next week across the north, but potentially turning dry and very warm again in the south.
