Large parts of England and Wales are covered by the amber warning, with temperatures widely expected to exceed 30°C and potentially peak between 38°C and 40°C in some areas. The forecaster stated: "Temperatures by day are widely expected to exceed 30 Celsius, with the hottest areas potentially peaking around 38-40 Celsius."
