Greater Manchester is bracing for another scorching weekend as the UK experiences its third heatwave of the year, with temperatures forecast to top 30C across the region. The Met Office has indicated that the highest temperatures are expected on Thursday and Friday, July 9 and 10, with widespread 30C readings across England and Wales. However, the weather agency notes that it will not feel as intense as the previous heatwave in late June.

The Met Office forecasts: "Early fog clearing to leave a hot and sunny day across the region. Light winds and high UV levels expected. A very warm evening and night to come too. Tonight is expected to remain clear but with a risk of fog, yet it will be another warm night for most. The outlook from Saturday through Monday remains largely dry with hot sunshine throughout. The Met Office adds: "The wind picking up a little may just allow it to feel not quite as hot for most. Nights remaining warm."
