Hot weather is set to return to the UK next week, with temperatures reaching 29C in parts of England on Wednesday, according to weather maps by WXCharts. The south and east of England will experience the hottest conditions, with 29C forecast across parts of East Anglia.

Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland will see some relief, with temperatures in the late teens, though it could reach up to 24C in Northumberland as the weather front is focused on the east coast. The warm weather is due to develop from Monday, when it looks a pleasant day, ranging between 21C and 23C across the majority of England and Wales, and around 18-19C in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

It starts heating up on Tuesday, reaching highs of 26C in south England once again, while the rest of the UK will remain slightly cooler. However, on Wednesday, a hot spell could peak at 29C.

Though it is not forecast to reach the highs of previous heatwaves in the UK, the hot weather is likely to come as a blow to farmers whose crops have suffered under hot and dry conditions. The hottest temperatures have been forecast for the east of England, reaching up to 29C in Norfolk and Suffolk. The capital could reach 27C, similar to the rest of the east coast.

According to the Met Office, it will be mostly dry with sunny spells from Sunday to Monday, however it will turn increasingly cloudy from the south later with showers, and an increasing risk of thunderstorms into Tuesday. Its long-range forecast predicts that from Wednesday, temperatures are likely to be near average, though some short-lived warm or hot spells are possible, especially in the south. Showers or longer spells of rain are possible across many parts of the UK.
