The Good Place was created for NBC by Michael Schur and ran for four seasons between 2016 and 2020. It follows Eleanor Shellstrop (played by Kristen Bell), a dead woman who arrives in the "Good Place", a Heaven-like utopia designed and supervised by the afterlife "architect" Michael, played by Ted Danson. Eleanor believes she doesn't deserve to be there and must hide her morally imperfect past to avoid being sent to the "Bad Place".

The series also stars William Jackson Harper, Jameela Jamil, D'Arcy Carden, and Manny Jacinto. Recurring cast members include Adam Scott, Tiya Sircar, Marc Evan Jackson, Maya Rudolph, and Stephen Merchant.
