The UK is bracing for further severe weather as the Met Office has issued multiple weather warnings for rain and snow, with the Environment Agency reporting over 50 flood alerts and warnings across England as of Wednesday afternoon.
Twelve flood warnings are in place, indicating that flooding is expected and immediate action is required, alongside more than 40 flood alerts urging residents to prepare for possible flooding. The warnings cover parts of Northern Ireland, north-west England, the Midlands, Scotland, and northern England.
A yellow rain warning for Northern Ireland is active from 6pm Wednesday to 9am Thursday, while north-west England and the Midlands face a similar warning from midnight to 11:59pm Thursday. Scotland is under a yellow snow warning from 4am Thursday to 9am Friday, and parts of southern Scotland and northern England have a snow warning from 4am to 3pm Thursday.
The Environment Agency has urged the public to stay informed about local flood risks. Residents can check the Government's flood warning page for up-to-date alerts, sign up for free flood warnings via text, phone, or email, and use the long-term flood risk service by entering a postcode.
