UK Weather: Heavy Rain and Showers Before Weekend Warmth Up to 24C

The Met Office has forecast a week of heavy rain and showers across the UK, with temperatures potentially reaching 24C by the weekend. Forecaster Craig Snell said the weather will be changeable, with rain on Monday and Thursday, and sunshine and showers on other days.

Monday will see a band of rain spreading east, followed by sunshine and scattered showers on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday will bring another band of rain across the country, while Friday will have sunshine and showers.

By the weekend, higher pressure is expected to build over the south, leading to more settled conditions. Mr Snell noted that after a changeable week, it could feel markedly warmer, with temperatures possibly reaching 24C or 25C in the southeast, and the low twenties elsewhere.
