Storms Austen and Boelo are set to bring heavy rain and high winds to the UK this weekend, with a yellow weather warning in place across the North East between Saturday and Sunday evenings.
Friday's Forecast
The Met Office's headline forecast for Friday states: "Largely wet start with persistent rain for many. Perhaps drier for a time, but risk of showers and further rain arriving later. Winds also strengthening, with coastal gales later. Maximum temperature 12 °C."
For tonight, forecasters added: "Cloudy with showers to start, becoming more settled and drier overnight, clearing skies as the rain moves eastwards into the North Sea. Winds will ease slightly by the morning. Minimum temperature 3 °C."
Storm Track
Storm Austen has already hit the UK, predominantly affecting the South and West. It will be followed by Storm Boelo, a separate weather front, tomorrow and Sunday.
