Liverpool Heatwave: 31C Today, 33C Expected Saturday

Liverpool city centre was packed with people enjoying the hot weather on Friday as temperatures soared to 31C. The heatwave, which has seen temperatures climb to 30C throughout the week, is set to intensify over the weekend.

Weekend Forecast: Hotter Weather Expected

The Met Office has confirmed that the warm weather will continue into Saturday, July 11, with temperatures expected to exceed 30C and reach a maximum of 33C. The forecaster said: "Another dry and sunny day for much of the region, although some cloud and a few spots of rain may move into Cumbria during the afternoon. Feeling very warm. Maximum temperature 33C."

The North West is currently under an amber heat health alert due to the extreme weather. However, a slight relief is expected next week as temperatures are forecast to cool down.

The Met Office's outlook for Friday in Liverpool stated: "Early mist and coastal low cloud will quickly burn away this morning to leave a dry and sunny day. Feeling hot with high levels of UV expected. Maximum temperature 34C."
