A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck near Scarcelli, Italy, just after midnight local time on Tuesday, June 2. The quake was felt over a large region, with hundreds of residents reporting the impact.
The earthquake occurred approximately 11 miles southwest of Scarcelli, at a depth of 247.1 kilometres, categorising it as an intermediate depth earthquake. The United States Geological Survey reported little or no population exposed to landslides or liquefaction.
