Water poured through the ceiling of a McDonald's in Bridgend on Saturday, forcing a partial closure of the restaurant as a yellow thunderstorm warning covered the bank holiday weekend.
Customers waiting to collect their orders watched water begin to trickle through the ceiling before a ceiling tile came down, allowing water to gush through the roof and pool on the floor.
Staff respond as water pools on floor
Staff members brought out wet floor signs, with some seen laughing and appearing unsure how to respond to the flooding. Shocked customers filmed the scene at the restaurant at the retail park on Picton Road.
The incident came as a number of places in the town were hit by flash flooding on Saturday, with water seen flowing through the town centre.
Flooding hits other Bridgend venues
Barnardo's charity shop in Brackla said it had been forced to close due to flooding on Saturday, and videos shared online show that The Wyndham Arms Hotel Wetherspoon was also affected.
Witnesses said the McDonald's was forced to partially close on Saturday due to the temporary ceiling collapse. McDonald's has been asked to confirm whether the restaurant has reopened, but according to the fast food restaurant's app, people can currently order food at the location. McDonald's has been approached for comment.
