Flood alerts have been issued for several areas in Wales as heavy rain is expected to sweep across the country. Areas along the coast have been warned of a risk of flooding due to a combination of high tides and weather conditions expected on Tuesday evening.
Coastal areas under alert
Residents in the affected areas have been advised by Natural Resources Wales to be careful on roads, beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and low lying land near estuaries because of possible flooding.
The areas issued with a flood alert include the North West Wales coastline, Usk Estuary, Wye Estuary in Monmouthshire, North Gower Coast, Carmarthenshire coast, Pembrokeshire coast, and Ceredigion coast between Clarach and Cardigan.
High tides and weather conditions
The flood alert for the Carmarthenshire coast between Pendine and Hendy, east of Llanelli, is in place due to high tides and weather conditions both this evening, Tuesday September 29, and tomorrow morning.
The Met Office forecast for Wales this evening and tonight states: "Mostly dry initially this evening, but a band of heavy rain and strong winds will quickly sweep across the country. Rain and winds easing later with showers following. Remaining mild. Minimum temperature 12 °C."

Heavy and blustery showers have been forecast for Wednesday in Wales, with the potential of thunder. Sunshine is still possible on Wednesday with winds easing.
