Emergency services have been dispatched to deal with significant flooding in Birmingham, where cars have reportedly become stranded in floodwater.
Firefighters, police officers and council staff are on-scene on multiple busy roads near Perry Park, a large park north of the city centre. West Midlands Fire Service announced the response at 11:20pm on Wednesday evening (August 26).

Images on social media show cars becoming 'stranded' in floodwater. One post reported flooding on Queslett Road, around three miles from the area where emergency services have been sent.
A statement from West Midlands Fire Service said: "We currently have six crews dealing with a significant flooding affecting Curbar Road, Thornbridge Avenue and Haddon Road, Birmingham."
Public advised to avoid area
"Crews are being supported by West Midlands Police and Birmingham City Council. Please avoid the area, where possible," the statement added.
