Two people have been killed in a plane crash in north Wales after the light aircraft they were travelling in failed to arrive at its destination.
North Wales Police received a report that the aircraft, which had departed from an airfield in England, had not arrived at Caernarfon Airport as scheduled.
A multi-agency air and ground search was launched, and the aircraft was found on Friday afternoon in a remote location close to Trawsfynydd, near Porthmadog in Gwynedd.
Victims pronounced dead at scene
The two people on board were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Air Accidents Investigations Branch (AAIB) has been made aware of the incident and has deployed a team of investigators.
Investigation underway
Police have not yet released the identities of the deceased. The AAIB will now lead the investigation into the cause of the crash.
